Age in Place Renovation

We had the honor of renovating a one level home so the homeowner could easily access both levels AND have more thoughtful areas where needed the most.

The main level was opened up and modifications were made to the lower level finishing the space with an ensuite bedroom/bath, an ADA bath, TV and game hangout spaces and laundry area.

Our homeowner can now wheel under the countertop near the sink, which was installed with the faucet and disposal air switch forward giving him the accessibility he needed.

We had custom steel supports and leg made in order to create a 24" overhang on two sides of his new granite topped island for ease and access helpful when dining with friends and family.

Supplemental cabinets were made to match his existing as well as provide more storage space with pantries and island storage at the newly formatted kitchen.

A wall separating the front of the house where his Great Room is located and the back where the kitchen, dining and family room were located was removed creating a very open feel and ease of use.

These mini elevators are a God send to those wanting access to all or other levels of their home that otherwise not be accessible. By the press of a couple of buttons, he now can travel both levels in a safe and comfortable way.

This space was designed to make sense for someone who cannot or doesn't want a bathtub, needs to be able to access their sink while in a sitting position and not suffer transitions in and out of the shower.

Some of the interior and one exterior doors now have auto operators allowing him to speak or push a button in order to access those private spaces.

Wood, tile and vinyl flooring was replaced with luxury vinyl tile to eliminate transitions, provide a smooth durable surface and update the style of the home.

Now, our homeowner has a home he can age in place for as long as he wishes.
