"I'm pleased to recommend WJL Consults as a general contractor/project planner. We met in November of 2021 to estimate and plan a basement remodeling. The estimate was favorable and it was decided to add the basement bathroom to the project. I also met with WJL Consulting in May of 2022 to estimate and plan the 1st floor bathroom remodel. The estimate was again favorable so I proceeded with that project as well.
The basement project consisted of new flooring, replacing sheetrock for both the walls and ceiling, new lighting and upgrade the electrical, new plumbing fixtures and painting. The 1st floor bathroom project consists of new flooring, cabinetry, light fixture, minor electrical work, plumbing fixtures, repair of sheetrock walls and painting. WJL listened to my ideas and helped with selections and coordinated all aspects to achieve a cohesive design. Project schedule was well coordinated to fit my schedule. Sub-contractors were well qualified, timely and professional.
I would recommend WJL Consulting for all projects in home remodeling. They communicated all aspects of the project and kept me informed. All workers were pleasant, timely and professional. I’m very satisfied with the work performed and will contact them again."

"For Twin Cities people looking for a general contractor for finishing and remodeling: We had a very good experience with a husband-wife team -- WJL Consults __ who did a lower level finish for us. We've built two other houses before this, and WJL was much better than our other contractors. They and their team of excellent small subcontractors did a bedroom, bathroom, and family room -- framing, plumbing, electric, HVAC, sheetrock, millwork, doors, cabinet, closet finish, painting, carpeting -- in 5 weeks. Their original estimate was 6 weeks, which seemed extremely optimistic to us at the time, and they beat that. Timing-wise, we may have gotten a bit lucky about the timing of sub-contractor availability, but they were extremely organized and coordinated, so we feel very confident recommending them. Nothing in this world is cheap, but they were the co-low bid, and some of their competitors were almost twice as much. They were very professional, transparent, knowledgeable, and flexible, as well as excellent communicators. Also, just good people. They're based in the south metro, but I know they will consider doing work elsewhere. "

"Wayne and Julie offered a very fair estimate for the amount of work I wanted done. They were never more than a phone call away - and always knew just how to soothe my nerves if I got frayed! The quality of work they and their contractors did is amazing, and they turned a relatively old, outdated, and drab house into the most amazing and beautiful home I could have ever asked for. They stuck to their schedule, and kept me informed of everything, every step of the way. DIY is NOT something I am good at, but Julie found a project that she and I could do together, so that I can feel proud of myself that something in the renovation was done by me! I thought that was an above and beyond special touch. They did not go over budget, accommodated me moving everything into my garage a month before the house was ready, and I moved in right on time! Wayne and Julie truly cared about me, and I could tell they truly care about all their clients. Their contractors were punctual, friendly, respectful, and did what they said they would, when they said they would. They, and one of their contractors, have even come back and helped with things like mounting TVs, tarping a leaky shed, and hanging shelves. I feel totally blessed that they were the contractors who created a home for me - they are honest, fair, professional, and can't recommend them high enough to anyone who is looking to have work done on their home.
